Update of Regulation (EC) N° 1235/2008 – Annexes III and IV

The EU Commission has approved a revised version of the equivalence list on June 18 in the Official Journal of the European Union with Regulation (EC) No 2015/931. This decision provides among other things for the amendments of some control bodies’ specifications (geographical scope and categories) and the prolongation of the inscription of Tunisia and the United States in Annex III. 
In addition, for control bodies which inclusion on the list ends on June 30, 2015, the revised regulation specifies that “based on the continuous supervision performed by the Commission in accordance with Article 33(3) of Regulation (EC) No 834/2007, the duration of the inclusion of the control bodies concerned should be extended until 30 June 2018”.

For IMOswiss AG the following changes arise with the new revised equivalence list: 
  1. In product category A (Unprocessed plant products) IMOswiss AG is now additionally listed for the countries Bahamas, Cambodia, Gambia, Honduras, Iran, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Suriname.
  2. In product category B (Live animals and unprocessed animal products = Honey): IMOswiss AG is additionally listed for Ethiopia
  3. In product category D (Processed agricultural products for use as food): IMOswiss AG is now listed also for Cambodia, Gambia, Iran, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Suriname

New Bio Suisse Logo

As of 01.01.2015 the logo of Bio Suisse Standard has been revised. Operations outside of Switzerland that are certified according to the Bio Suisse standards may display the logo „BIOSUISSE ORGANIC“ (see below) on promotional materials, websites, etc. The following terms must not be used: “Bud farm/business”, “Bio Suisse farm/ business” etc. Products from operations certified according to the Bio Suisse standards must use the phrase „BIOSUISSE ORGANIC“ or the „BIOSUISSE ORGANIC“ logo (see below) on packaging, delivery notes, invoices, etc. Containers for export must carry the logo. All products certified according to the Bio Suisse standards as ”in conversion” must be labelled clearly as “BIOSUISSE ORGANIC in conversion”. The following terms must not be used: “Bio Suisse”, “Bud”, “Bud Label”, “Bud in conversion label”, “Bud approved”, “Bud conform” etc.
Please find the new logo available for download as .jpg-file on the Bio Suisse website, as of 1 January 2017 the old logo “approved by BIO SUISSE” can not be used anymore.
